🎯 Learning outcomes
Read passages of 150–250 words with fluency and understanding
Answer factual and inferential questions in complete sentences
Find meanings of new words from context
Before you start: Reading short stories.
📖 Explanation
Reading comprehension now involves longer passages: stories, descriptions and simple information texts (about animals, festivals, places).
Read once for the overall idea, then read questions and find answers. Inferential questions (क्यों? / ఎందుకు?) need thinking from clues.
Guess new word meanings from context, then check in a dictionary (शब्दकोश / నిఘంటువు).
🇮🇳 Example from India
Passage: 'चिल्का झील ओडिशा में है। यहाँ सर्दियों में दूर-दूर से पक्षी आते हैं।' Why do birds come? Inference: to escape the cold in their homelands.
⚠️ Common mistake
