Zero matrix

The zero matrix O has every element 0. Adding it changes nothing, and A − A = O.

📐 Formula

A + O = A; A − A = O; AO = O

✏️ Worked example

[3 −2; 1 5] − [3 −2; 1 5] = [0 0; 0 0].

🌍 Where it is used

The 'additive identity' in matrix algebra.
