🛠️ Set up and verify

  1. Install
    install Power BI Desktop from the Microsoft Store
    Power BI Desktop is Windows-only: use a Windows VM or the Power BI service
    Power BI Desktop is Windows-only: use the Power BI service in a browser
  2. Editor: Visual Studio Code with Power BI Desktop.
  3. Create measure
    Total Marks = SUM ( Results[Marks] )
  4. Run it and check the version
    add the measure to a table in Power BI Desktop
open Power BI Desktop → Help → About
  5. Health check: paste what your terminal printed.

Install one language at a time. These commands only install or print versions; nothing here deletes files. Versions change: check the official page and note the version you installed.
