🧠 Concept map: Time, money and measurement
1What am I looking at?
Answer: Units of time, money, length, weight and capacity and changing between them.
2What are its main parts or ideas?
Answer: 1 hour = 60 min, 1 m = 100 cm, 1 kg = 1000 g, 1 L = 1000 mL, ₹1 = 100 paise.
3How does it work?
Answer: Multiply to change a big unit to a small one and divide to change small to big.
4Why is it important?
Answer: Shopping, cooking, travel and schedules all use these units.
5What happens if something changes?

Make bills and solve money problems with rupees and paise
Before you start: Clock to the hour and half hour; adding money.
📖 Explanation
An hour has 60 minutes and a day 24 hours. In the 24-hour clock, 3:45 p.m. is written 15:45. To find a duration, count on: from 9:40 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. is 20 minutes to 10:00, then 1 hour 15 minutes, total 1 hour 35 minutes.
₹1 = 100 paise. A bill lists items, quantity, rate and amount (quantity × rate); the total is the sum of amounts.
Profit is selling price − cost price when you sell for more than you paid; loss when you sell for less.
🇮🇳 Example from India
An Indian Railways timetable lists the Shatabdi leaving at 06:00 and arriving at 10:45, so the journey takes 4 hours 45 minutes.
⚠️ Common mistake
✗ 1.30 hours means 1 hour 30 minutes ✓ 1.30 hours means 1.3 hours, which is 1 hour 18 minutes; 1 hour 30 minutes is 1.5 hours.
