Absolute Value Function
The absolute value function gives the distance from 0, always non-negative. Its graph is a V with its corner at the origin.
|x|Absolute Value Function
📐 Formula
|x| = x if x ≥ 0, −x if x < 0
✏️ Worked example
|−3| = 3, so (−3, 3) is on the graph.
🌍 Where it is used
Error sizes, distances and tolerances in engineering.
❓ Quick check
