If there were no farmers, no doctors and no teachers for one week, what would happen?

🌐 People who help us
…
3 📖 Explain
Many people help us every day: farmers grow food, doctors and nurses treat the sick, teachers help us learn, police keep us safe, firefighters put out fires and postal workers bring letters.
Each helper uses special tools: a stethoscope, a fire hose, a plough, a whistle. In an emergency in India we can call 112 for help.
When a fire broke out in a market, firefighters came in a red fire engine, sprayed water with hoses and kept everyone safe.
✗ Only people in uniforms are helpers.
✓ Many helpers wear no uniform, like the farmer, the cobbler, the vegetable seller and the sweeper.

Scenario You see smoke coming from a house on your street. What should you do?
Show a suggested answer
Move away to safety, tell an adult immediately, and the adult calls 112 for the fire service.
Interview one helper in your area (with an adult): ask what their work is, what tools they use and how we can help them. Make a thank-you card.

Observation In the 3D scene, match each helper with a tool. How did you decide?

I thought about the helper's work: a doctor checks heartbeats with a stethoscope, a farmer ploughs fields.
Explain / create Plan a "thank you, helpers" day with a friend. What could your class do?
Show a suggested answer
Make cards, invite a nurse or postal worker to talk, give water to sanitation workers on a hot day, and say thank you.
