🚌 Travel and communication
…
3 📖 Explain
We travel by land (bus, train, auto, bicycle), by water (boat, ship) and by air (aeroplane). Each is good for different journeys: a bicycle for short trips, a train for long ones.
Communication is sharing messages. Long ago people sent letters by post; today we also use phones, video calls and messages. On roads we stay safe by using zebra crossings and following traffic lights.
A family in Vijayawada travels by train to Chennai, then sends a photo on the phone to the grandparents in a village who also get a postcard by post.
✗ Green light means run across the road quickly.
✓ At a crossing, walk only when the pedestrian light is green, after looking right, left and right again.

Show a suggested answer
Use the zebra crossing, wait for the green walking signal, look right, left and right again, then walk across without running.
Write a postcard to a relative or friend, and ask an adult to post it. Make a chart of how your family travels and communicates.

Think, then answer in your own words. Your notes stay on this device.
Observation In the 3D scene, sort the vehicles by where they move. What do you notice?
Show a suggested answer
Car, bus, auto and bicycle go on roads, the train on rails, the boat on water and the aeroplane in the air.
Explain / create Compare a letter and a phone call with a friend: which is faster, and which can you keep?
Show a suggested answer
A phone call is faster; a letter takes days but you can keep it and read it again.
