…
3 📖 Explain
Keeping ourselves clean (bathing, washing hands, brushing teeth, trimming nails) stops germs and keeps us healthy.
Keeping our surroundings clean helps everyone. Wet waste like peels and leaves goes in the green bin and can become compost; dry waste like paper, plastic and cans goes in the blue bin and can be recycled.
Under the Swachh Bharat campaign, many colonies give wet and dry waste separately, and the wet waste becomes compost for gardens.
✗ Washing hands with only water is enough.
✓ Use soap and rub for about 20 seconds, between the fingers and under the nails, then rinse.

5 🏡 Real-life task
Try this at home or at school, then check the suggested answer.
Scenario After a class party, there are paper plates, fruit peels and plastic cups. How will you sort them?
Show a suggested answer
Fruit peels go in the green (wet) bin; paper plates and plastic cups go in the blue (dry) bin to be recycled.
For one day, sort the waste at home into wet and dry. Count which bin fills more, and think of one way to make less waste.

Observation In the 3D scene, watch where each item goes. What do the wet-waste items have in common?
Show a suggested answer
They come from plants and food, and they rot; that is why they become compost.
Explain / create Teach a friend the steps of washing hands and why each step matters.
Show a suggested answer
Wet hands, use soap, rub palms, backs, between fingers and under nails for 20 seconds, rinse and dry: this removes germs from every part of the hand.
